Gazprom — RusVelo will participate in Trofeo Laigueglia and Clasica de Almeria
Sunday 11th of February Gazprom — RusVelo will compete in Italian Trofeo Laigueglia and Spanish Clasica de Almeria, races with highest 1.HC UCI categories.
Both are one-day races that feature craggy routes and are certainly appealing for all-rounders with ability for a powerful finish. Trofeo Laigueglia has six categorized climbs and 203,7 kilometres distance, the route of Clasica de Almeria is a bit less challenging with four categorized hills and 185 kilometres road course.
Gazprom — RusVelo rider Nikolay Cherkasov shared his expectations before the upcoming start in Spain: “The route of Clasica de Almeria suits me well and the climbs on the first part of race probably won’t be a huge challenge for us. It will be important to group up after the hills and bring Sergey (Shilov) to the front position at the crucial moment. We’ve done quite an impressive work during the off-season, so we are ready for the fierce competition.”
