Gazprom — RusVelo will make its debut at 4 Jours de Dunkerque
On 8-13 of May the Russian professional cycling team Gazprom — RusVelo will compete in the French stage-race — 4 Jours de Dunkerque – Grand Prix des Hauts de France.
The race in the northern part of France features the highest UCI category and even though it is held at the same time with Giro d’Italia, an impressive list of contenders has never been an issue. Craggy altimetry, strong side-winds and cobbled sectors are to challenge the riders during the total distance of 1029 kilometres packed in six stages.
Gazprom — RusVelo rider Nikolay Trusov shared his experience of competing in the French stage-race: “I have already competed in 4 Jours de Dunkerque three times, so that is not a new race for me. From my past experience, strong side-winds in the final stages with the cobbled sectors add unpredictability to the contest, that is why you need to be able to make quick decisions, adapt and be ready for the attacks. We have a strong line-up including Alexander Porsev, who has just recovered from injury and strives to compete, as well as Sergey Shilov and Roman Maikin, who are in good physical conditions and are able to demonstrate powerful sprints”.
Line-up for 4 Jours de Dunkerque: Igor Boev, Nikolay Trusov, Alexander Porsev, Sergey Shilov, Evgeny Shalunov, Roman Maikin, Dmitry Kozonchuk.
