Boev, Ershov and Solomennikov re-sign with Gazprom – RusVelo
Gazprom – RusVelo is happy to announce that Igor Boev, Artur Ershov and Andrey Solomennikov extended their contracts for 2017 season. Riders and team’s management will continue productive work on team’s goals in the coming season.
Andrey Solomennikov noted: «This season we’ve reached a new level – our first grand tour and world tour classics were such a great experience. It’s a great inspiration! There is going to be a lot of new very good riders in the team, their skills and experience will help us to become better and stronger. My goals for the next season are spring classics. This year was controversial for me and I am eager to do my best next year. We spent a great season and it looks like a perfect base for the future».
«Contract extension with Gazprom – RusVelo is very important and positive result for me. Last season was very intense, we’ve made it through and became stronger. I’ll do my best to reach next season team’s goals. I am very thankful for team’s management decision about contract prolongation and their trust. This gives me an opportunity to do what I love most», – Igor Boev said.
Artur Ershov shared his emotions after the re-sign the agreement: «It’s going to be my sixth consecutive season with this team, Gazprom – RusVelo is almost a family for me. Thanks to team management and their trust, I am very happy to be on the roster and will do my best to prove that I worth to be a part of the team».
Gazprom – RusVelo’s GM Renat Khamidulin: «Any team needs a base, and those guys represent this base for our team. Andrey is very good on a cold weather races with hilly or flat course. Igor has proper sprint skills, so he is a part of our sprint train. Artur has a great endurance, which makes him very good for a team races. And we should remember that he was a world champion on track in 2015, so he has a great tactic and speed qualities. I am very happy that we’ve reached an agreement with guys. I am sure that each of them will do a proper work for the team next season».
